My name is Amy Roper and I'm very excited about another school year!
I've wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember!
When I was a young girl, I would play school with my sisters.
This is me when I was in first grade.
I grew up in a tiny town in the center of Utah named Levan.
I graduated from Juab High School.
I graduated from Southern Utah University with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.
I have been married to my husband for 26 years.
We have 3 sons and 1 daughter-in-law.
I have been teaching for 24 years! I have spent most of my career in first grade, but have also taught 4th grade for 11 years and was a reading interventionist for 1 year. I previously taught at Vista Elementary for 19 years and at Roosevelt Elementary for 3 years. I have taught first grade at Bennion Elementary for the past 2 years. I am looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year! I love teaching first grade, especially teaching children how to read!
I have an ESL Endorsement from Weber State University and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology with emphasis in Reading and Literacy from the University of Utah.
I love to work in my yard, run, bake cupcakes, make crafts, scrapbook, spend time with my family, watch my sons play sports and just have fun making memories!
